Premiership giants Arsenal have made yet another young signing. The 21-year Zinedine Zidana wannabe Samir Nasri has finally made his move from French giants Olympique de Marseille to Arsenal.
The French international midfielder in the mould of the French maestro Zidane was always speculated to be on his way to the Emirates. He was part of the French squad for the Euro 2008 finals but even before the competition had commenced he was quoted as saying as saying that he would join Arsene Wenger’s bandwagon in the summer.
Now that he has eventually been granted his wish, Samir Nasri told the Arsenal website:
“I’m very happy to become an Arsenal player, it means such a lot to me. This is a very important step in my life as a football player because Arsenal is a massive club. I really hope everything will go well for me here. I will my best for Arsenal and its fans and I am honoured to be part of such a great football club.”
Arsenal have had to pay 14 million euros to Marseille for the highly talented youngster.
