Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo admits his side will need some points against Juventus to progress in the UEFA Champions League despite their last-gasp 3-2 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday.
Victor Moses headed in a stoppage-time winner to clinch a valuable three points for the European champions, who now have seven points alongside Shakhtar in Group E, with Juve a further point back.
“(The match against Juventus) is not going to make things easier, but it’s going to give us a good chance to qualify,” Di Matteo told reporters.
“The last game between Shakhtar and Juventus will be crucial now. We need to win our last game (against FC Nordsjælland), but we need some points from Turin as well.”
The Italian boss insisted, despite Moses’ late heroics, that the Blues deserved the win over the Ukrainians.
“It was always going to be a difficult game. They showed that they are a very good team,” he said.
“Maybe with the timing of the goal there was a little bit of luck, but I think overall we deserved to win.”
