Molde comfortably dispatched Heerenveen in Norway last week and they can reach the Europa League group stage in style.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team were 2-0 winners over their Dutch opponents and the Eredivisie side face an uphill task on home soil to turn it around.
Heerenveen are in terrible form and quite how they have been installed as odds-on chances on Thursday I’ve no idea.
A first-half strike from Magnus Eikrem and what could turn out to be a crucial injury-time second goal from Swede Mattias Mostrom sees the Norwegian champions travel south with a healthy advantage and Molde continued their good form on the weekend.
Another 2-0 triumph, this time over Valerenga in the Eliteserien, saw Molde maintain their one point lead at the top of the domestic standings but Solskjaer will have his eye on a decent European run and his players pushed Basel all the way in Champions League qualifying.
Molde earned a 1-1 draw in Switzerland, not enough to overturn a first leg deficit, and that performance showed they are more than capable on their travels.
Molde have nothing to fear from a mediocre Heerenveen outfit and Thursday’s hosts have scored just one goal in their five previous matches, none of which feature a win.
Dating back to last season it is 11 goals conceded in front of their owns fans in four matches too, without claiming maximum points, and Molde can add to the pain for Marco van Basten’s side.
3pts Lay Heerenveen (vs. Molde) @ 1.85 (Betfair)
