Cameroon international Alex Song has completed his €19 million switch from Arsenal to Barcelona.
The midfielder passed a medical on Monday to complete the formalities of the switch, as he follows Robin Van Persie out of the Emirates in the past week, similar to last season’s twin departures of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas.
The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Spanish runners-up who are gunning to reclaim their domestic title this term and begun the season with a 5-1 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday.
“Today is a very good day for me and my family. Very happy to be here, this is the best team in the world, playing at a club like Barga is something I wanted when I was young,” Song told BarcaTV.
“I hope the team will continue to win, this is a winning team. They win everything. I will give my best on training and when I get the chance to play I will do it.’’
