In the Barclays Premier League, Everton will welcome Stoke City to Goodison Park while Sunderland will travel to the Molinuex Stadium to face Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Everton have put together a few decent results of late and manager David Moyes will be keen for his team to continue getting the results at home. The side were absolutely brilliant at the Reebok Stadium last weekend and Marouane Fellaini in particular was exceptional. Moyes will hope for a repeat performance from the Belgian in front of the home fans.
Sunderland, who sacked manager Steve Bruce in mid-week should travel to Wolves with Martin O’Neil as the manager as the former Celtic and Aston Villa manager should be confirmed as their coach in the next few hours.
Sunderland will look to turn their fortunes when they visit Wolves who were outplayed 3-0 by Chelsea at the Bridge last weekend.
In the Bundes Liga, Schalke will look to get their season back on track against Augsburg at the Veltins Arena after their defeat last week to the defending champions. Klaas Jan Huntelaar, who has been enjoying a prolific season in front of goal, will look to fire the home team back on top.
Over in the La Liga, Atletico Madrid will look to put the memories of the painful derby loss at the hands of Real Madrid behind them when they welcome Rayo Vallecano at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday. Malaga will travel to Real Sociedad while Athletic Bilbao travel to Mallorca in the night’s other meaningful game.
Malaga will look to continue their winning streak under their new owners, who have invested a lot of money on the coach and the players in the off season. So far, the team have looked pretty decent, however, they should now begin to get better after spending time together, considering the fact that this was a brand new team at the start of the season.
The big game on Sunday will be in the Serie A when Fiorentina welcome Roma to Florence. Luis Enrique’s Roma will be eager to prove a point or two while Fiorentina look to hold fort.
There is plenty of quality in both lineups and we can hope to witness a great game of football. League leaders Juventus will also be in action against Cesena at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin.
Juventus have been early pace setters in the Serie A and are in a commanding position at the top of the standings at the present time. They will continue to work hard to keep themselves on top of their rivals with some big matches to come this month.
