Norwich are yet to keep a clean sheet on their return to the Premier League and I’m taking them on again this weekend.
Opposing the Canaries against Arsenal was profitable last Saturday and the Gunners eventually ran out ready winners having fallen behind to Steve Morrison’s early strike.
Norwich face QPR this weekend and, while they will appreciate the drop in class, I couldn’t be backing them at 2.25 to oblige.
The Carrow Road club have impressed in the top flight under Paul Lambert but defensively they look suspect and Arsenal exposed their weaknesses time and again seven days ago, often overwhelming an overstretched Norwich back four.
In a battle of two of the three newly promoted sides it is Rangers who enter the match in better form and quite why Norwich are as short as they are I’m not so sure.
QPR were excellent 3-2 winners at Stoke last time out and they can also boast impressive wins over Chelsea, Everton and Wolves this season, the latter two of which were also on their travels.
With three away victories to their name already, QPR will be confident of adding to their points in tally in East Anglia and to me look better equipped for survival than Saturday’s opponents.
Neil Warnock’s men were unlucky not to get something from their match with leaders Manchester City at Loftus Road, too, and appear marginally superior in just about every department to the hosts.
A win for QPR would take them five points clear of Lambert’s side and the visitors will be eyeing the maximum haul. Whether they’ll get it or not remains to be seen but I’m happy to pay to find out and will be very disappointed if they head home south with nothing to show for their efforts.
4pts Lay Norwich (vs. QPR) @ 2.25 (Betfair)
