Tottenham Hotspurs will be up against Aston Villa at White Hart Lane as the two teams clash for their Barclays Premier League match on Monday night football.
Tottenham are ready to welcome back their manager Sir Harry Redknapp who had undergone a heart surgery a fortnight ago. Spurs are in good form at the moment with most of the players showing a lot of flair in the park. They have recovered from the slow start they made to the season and are lying in 5th place in the League table ay 22 points with two matches in hand. If I were manager at Tottenham, I would certainly take that.
Spurs are looking sharp at the moment with Gareth Bale back to his best after a slow start to the season. Aaron Lennon has also been fantastic on the flanks. Luka Modric has remained with the club amid interest from Chelsea, and it has been wonderful for the club. Scot Parker has made a huge impact since signing from West Ham United. Tom Huddlestone has found it hard in the sidelines while Sandro has got some chances to impress.
Rafael van der Vaart, who is out of the clash with an injury has looked lackluster in the past few games for Spurs. Although the man is a class act, he has failed to get his act right in the past few weeks. Probably a spell in the sidelines will serve him well in the course of the season.
Tottenham though will be thanking their stars to have secured the services of former Arsenal striker Emanuel Adebayor on loan from Manchester City. The guy has brought a certain amount of freshness in the team and adds a lot of value to the spurs attack. His height adds a lot of dimension to the attack for a tam who are lagging behind others in terms of headed goals.
Aston Villa on the other hand have also been quite impressive this season thank to Darren bent and Gabriel Agbonlahor. Villa are 8th in the league standings at the present time and have a great chance of doing well this season. New coach Alex McLeish has spent well on his players this season and he has built the team very sensibly.
At the moment though, Villa are riding on the performances of England strike duo of Gabriel Agbonlahor and Darren Bent. While Agbonlahor has been creating a pleothora of chances for his teammates as well as scoring from outside the box, Bent has been absolutely clinical inside the area.
This duo can prove too hot to be handled by the Spurs defenders. Add the likes of Charles Nzogbia, Stilian Petrov, Marc Albrighton, and Stephen Ireland and you have a great team that will test every opposition to their limits.
