Spanish giants Real Madrid will come up against high flying Valencia on Saturday as the two teams meet for their La Liga clash at the Mestalla in Valencia.
Real Madrid have been having a fantastic time of late. They are at the top of the La Liga with 28 points from 11 matches. They are 3 points ahead of fierce rivals Barcelona in the standings and they certainly look unplayable at this moment in time. In the space of 11 matches, the men in royal while have scored 39 goals which has been a team effort and Real have conceded just 7 goals in the league so far.
Real Madrid are riding high at the present time as the team has been simply unbeatable in recent times. Cristiano Ronaldo is on fire along with Mesut Ozil, who seems to have developed a panache for delivering the killer pass.
Gonzalo Higuain and Kaka have also been quite impressive after returning from their respective injuries. Higuain has managed a couple of hattricks this season while Karim Benzema has also been impressive. Benzema in particular has put the past behind him and has been firing in all cylinders this time around.
The loss of Angel di Maria to that nasty thigh muscle tear though will be something that will worry Real Madrid. The Argentinean had been in impressive form and appeared to be gliding on the park this season. He created a couple of goals for Real in their 7-1 drubbing of Osasuna before being stretchered off after suffering a muscle tear on his thigh. He will be missing in the big match and Kaka is expected to start in his place after recovering from his injury.
Valencia will rely heavily on the services of Roberto Soldado for any hope of victory. The former Real Madrid man is fast maturing into one of the hottest strikers in the La Liga. There is quite a lot of talent in this Valencia team with the likes of Feghouli, Ever Banega, Aritz Aduriz, Pablo Piatti, Sergio Canales, and Pablo Hernandez in the squad.
Ever Banega has been very consistent with his performances for Valencia while Piatti brings a lot of pace in their game. Valencia will be dangerous on the counter and Real Madrid will have to cope with that.
The odds are heavily in favor of Real winning this encounter but something tells me that it will be a rather close affair with Real perhaps edging past Valencia. This should be a cracker of a match that will determine the fate of the German title race this season. I will be putting my money on a victory for Bayern Munich given their recent form and the fact that the match will be played at the Allianz Arena.
