Manchester City are yet to thrash out a compromise with the representatives of their Argentine striker Carlos Tevez, who remained absent on the day of the meeting. The club confirmed that a meeting has indeed taken place with his representative while Tevez remained home in Argentina.carlos tevez

If reports are to be believed, City are looking to get rid of their want away striker as soon as possible on the long term while Tevez is heading for an indefinite suspension from the club in the short term. In this past year, we have seen Tevez submit 2 transfer requests and City will be hard pressed to answer why they did not let him go when Brazilian club Corinthians came in with an offer of 40 million pounds.

The Argentina international has returned home to Buenos Aires where he is staying with his family at the moment while his doctors certify that he is in no condition to return to Britain amid concerns of acute depression. Tevez has revealed to his close friends that there is no future for him at the club for whom he scored 20 goals in the league last season as his relationship with City boss Roberto Mancini is beyond repair.

Earlier this season, the relationship had gone for a toss when Tevez refused to come on as a substitute against Bayern Munich in a Champions League match held at the Allianz Arena. He was fined a hefty sum of money thereafter and was made to train alone by the City manager. Tevez thereafter remained absent from practice without permission and flew off to Argentina without the permission of the club. This only served to increase the animosity between the club and the player.

While City look to sell their former skipper as soon as possible, I fear that there won’t be many suitors who will be willing to put their money on such a dubious character.

Carlos Tevez has always been a perennial problem for each and every club that he has ever played for and with his recent antics, it will be extremely difficult to find a suitor for him who will be willing to pay more than 25 million pounds for the striker.

If we take a look at the Argentine’s career, we will see that his commitment to the club’s concern when he is on the field is not in doubt. He remains one of the hardest working forwards of his generation.

However, what will not be attractive for clubs looking to sign him on will be the fact that he has not played more than 2 seasons for every club that he has played for in his career and his transfers have always been ugly. I wonder what has become of such a talented football player!
