The quarter-finals of the Copa America 2011 will be held on July 16 and 17, with the winners going on to play in the semi-finals. Colombia will face Peru at Cordoba in the first of the quarter-finals.

Colombia will play Peru in the first quarter-final of the Copa America 2011. The match will start at 4.00 pm local Argentina time and will be played at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in Cordoba. Colombia was one of the unbeaten teams in the group stages of the tournament and had topped their group A with seven points. This included a couple of wins against Costa Rica and Bolivia, apart from holding Argentina to 0-0 draw.

On the other hand, Peru scraped through to the quarter-finals despite finishing third in their group. They had started off with a drawn game against Uruguay and then beat Mexico by a solitary goal. However, a loss to Chile in the last game pushed them to the third spot but the good news was that the other two teams in the third place had both three points to their four.

Radamel Falcao will be the striker to watch out for Colombia, having scored two goals in the tournament so far, joint with José Paolo Guerrero of Peru, who also has two. Colombia will be the favourites to win the game, with an opportunity to take on the winner of the Argentina-Uruguay game.
