Spanish club Valencia are waking up to the calls of transfer requests. With a host of their players speculated to move out of the Mestalla following a disastrious 2007-2008 seasonin which they barely managed to avoid relegation, transfer requests have already begun being drafted to the club’s board.
Portuguese international right back-cum-right winger Miguel has sent in his transfer request to Valencia. He has been a consistent performer for the Spanish club over the years but his off-the-pitch extravagenza has been something that has always fostered friction between him and the club.
Miguel now appears to believe that he is done with Spanish football and that he would be better off in the English Premier League. His agent Paulo Barbosa has been quoted by the Portuguese website A Bola as saying that Miguel is bent in moving away from the Mestalla this summer.
Barbosa said:
“We have spoken with Valencia’s directors and we could possibly have news this week.
“Miguel has never hidden that fact that he would like to play in England.
“Valencia understand his market value is high and they have a good perspective of making a good transaction. Let’s see if we can find a solution.”
Seems like Valencia are about to face an exodus of players, both forced and unforced.
