Poor old Manchester United! If they thought that they would put a firm full-stop to the persistently dragging Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga by complaining to FIFA, then they were severely and ironically wrong. The fiasco might just multiply manifold.
You see, the Premiership and European champions complained to FIFA that Real Madrid are employing in appropriate and illegal means to lure the player away from Old Trafford, a claim that Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has vehemently brushed aside. Sir Alex Ferguson and co thought that FIFA might do something for them but unfortunately they would have to bite the dust on this occasion.
A FIFA spokesman makes it clear for Man United and remarks:
“United’s chances of getting Real punished are zero.
“I think everyone knows that these things go on in football but proving any wrongdoing is next to impossible.
“Real are very powerful and I don’t think they’ll be too worried about United’s claims.”
So there you have, FIFA unwillingly, unwittingly and rather dangerously giving the green signal to the mighty Real to do what they like about the murky affair and one can very well imagine very well what Calderon and co would do!
