Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to join the German Bundesliga club SV Hamburg and has reportedly undergone a medical examination.
Van Nistelrooy has suffered injuries for the past couple of seasons and has been warming the bench this term. Madrid-based Spanish sports daily Marca says that officials from Hamburg landed in Madrid earlier on Friday and that a medical examination has taken place.
Van Nistelrooy had been linked with a number of clubs, many from the Premier League, but it seems that he has decided to now play in the Bundesliga in Germany.
