Premier League cashbag Manchester City have signed Argentine international and former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez on a five-year deal.
Tevez was on loan to Premier League and European powerhouse Manchester United for the past two seasons and his loan deal at Old Trafford came to an end at the end of the 2008-2009 season. United and Tevez’s owners MSI couldn’t quite settle on a fee and the player himself complained of not being respected enough by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 25-year-old has now signed for United’s city rivals Manchester City. He has passed his medical and will reportedly wear the number 32 shirt next season for the Citizens.
Man City have already signed Gareth Barry from Aston Villa and Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn Rovers. They are expected to rope in Togolese international striker Emmanuel Adebayor from Arsenal in the coming days.
