Spain striker Fernando Morientes has confirmed that he shall leave Valencia at the end of the season.

Valencia have lost out on a UEFA Champions League spot for the second season in a row and shall feature in the UEFA Europa League next season. This has led to speculation that the club that is immersed in a debt of over 600 euros would lose more stars this summer, namely David Villa and David Silva.
Speaking at a press conference, the former Real Madrid and Valencia striker said:
“I have come here to say goodbye, it is all concluded, and this is my last press conference as a Valencia player. There is nothing for certain [in the future] yet, there are some offers, and I will see which of those is the best. I have spent three years here and I have received a lot of respect, not just from the fans in the stadium, but those in the street too. The fans should know that I am very grateful to them for all the respect they have shown me.
“We have not achieved the objectives of the club, and I have not achieved my individual goals, but we have learned from it. When I arrived, I said that I wanted to win titles and we did that. The Copa del Rey was what I wanted most and we won it. We have not achieved our objectives and there is nothing to hide behind. Each person must look at themselves and to fight next year for where the team belongs, the Champions League.”
