Rijkaard achieved massive success with Spanish club Barcelona in the middle of this decade as he led them to two successive league titles and the UEFA Champions League triumph in 2006. HIs subsequent two years, though, yielded no major silverware and he parted company with the Blaugrana at the end of the 2007-2008 season.

Since then the Dutchman has been without any club but has now expressed his eagerness to return to football management. In an interview with FIFA.com, Rijkaard said:

“The papers are always making their predictions, but I don’t know where I will end up. I cannot really speak about it right know, but maybe in a few weeks as I do not want to increase the voices as I respect the coaches who are working at the moment.

“If someone makes an offer then I will think about it. I still want to coach at club level, but if something else arrives then we will see what happens.”
