Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given the strongest indication yet that they might just sell star striker Emmanuel Adebayor to Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The Togo international striker has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent days as the Blues come close to appointing the current AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti their manager for next season.
The Daily Mirror has quoted Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as saying that there is a possibility that they would consider selling Adebayor to Chelsea at the end of this season. The Frenchman said:
“I don’t want to go into any individual assessment of who we want to keep and who not at the moment, and normally Adebayor is part of our plans for the future.
“But if I feel that a player should go, or could go, why not sell him to one of the other top four? It’s unusual, but we sold [Ashley] Cole to Chelsea and we bought [William] Gallas, so you can never say I never do it, because I’ve already done it.”
