Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has let out another dark secret from his days spent as the president of the biggest club in the world.

Calderon became the president of Real Madrid in 2006 and led the club to two successive Liga triumphs. He resigned midway through the 2008-2009 season amidst allegations of corruption, complaning that some were out to get him.
Ramon Calderon has now said that president-in-waiting and the man who oversaw the Galactios project wanted to get rid of both Raul and Iker Casillas, two cantera products. In an interview with Al Jazeera Sports, Calderon said:
“Florentino did not have a lot of connection with the players. It was only thanks to popular support that [Iker] Casillas stayed at Real Madrid, because he [Perez] did not want him, nor Raul, to continue there.”
