Presidential elections are scheduled to be held in June but according to Catalan sports daily Sport, the decision as to who becomes the next president of Real Madrid could become clear as early as May.
Sports reports that all candidates who plan to run for the presidential office have to guarantee at least 52.5 million euros each, which is 15% of the club’s budget for next season. While Florentino Perz would not have much problem in garnering the sum, his rivals for the ‘White House’ presidential post, namely Juan Onieva, Eugenio Martinez Bravo and Eduardo Garcia, might confront some difficulty in gathering it.
If it so happens, then Perez could be declared the new president of the most prestigious club in the world by default as there would be no one to run against him.
