Spanish giants FC Barcelona are reported to have lined up a replacement for their first choice goalkeeper Victor Valdes should he decide not to renew his contract at the end of the 2009-2010 season.
According to Catalan sports daily Sport, Barcelona are looking to sign the Real Valladolid custodian Sergio Asenjo as a potential replacement for Victor Valdes in the summer. It has been reported that Barcelona Txiki Begiristain is keen to take on board Asenjo as there are doubts on Valdes’ future.
Valdes, a Barcelona cantera product, is reportedly unhappy with his current salary and wants more wage to be on par with the other stars of the team.
