Villarreal are certain to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season and could even notch up the second place in the Spanish season by leapfrogging giants FC Barcelona.
What’s more the Yellow Submarine could even snap up Edmilson from Barcelona and bring him board in the summer. Reports from Spain suggest that Barca have given the green signal to Villarreal to go ahead and talk with their Brazilian international midfielder Edmilson over a possible move in the summer.
Edmilson is supposedly past his best and that is why he features only sparingly in Frank Rijkaard’s side these days. But Villarreal do have this amusing habit of picking up players thought to be well past their prime and then reinventing them. They might as well do so in the case of Edmilson whose playing career has been saddled with more injury problems than bad form.
Villarreal are also reportedly tracking the Athletic de Bilbao striker Llorente and the move could be sealed in the summer.
