Four of the men who participated were banned from the stadium for two years and also fined 60,001 euros (£51,700). They were arrested 11 days ago and were later released on bail by the Madrid court.
The other three people were banned for one year and fined 5,000 euros (£4,300). These three were aged between 18 and 21. They were detained 2 days after the game.
The sanctions were executed by the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance in Sport.
In reference to the Spanish league, Vinicius said it, “belongs to racists”.
Javier Tebas, La Liga President, and the league’s handling of the incident was widely condemned when he told Vinicius on social media, “You need to inform yourself properly”.
He later apologized saying that he did not mean to attack the player.
The Brazilian government had appealed for severe sanctions against the fans that were responsible for the racial attack and said that they were seeking, “more sanctioning powers” to help punish such incidents.
As a part of an anti-racism campaign, Brazil will play friendly games with Senegal and Guinea in Lisbon on June 17 and 20.
