Paris St-Germain is only three wins away from winning the Ligue 1 title after they scored a 3-1 win against Troyes.

This is the first match PSG played since Lionel Messi was suspended after his unapproved trip to Saudi Arabia which resulted in the club imposing a 2-week ban on the player.

Early scores came from Kylian Mbappe and Vitinha. Later on, Xavier Chavalerin pulled a score for Troyes but PSG secured their win with an additional score from Fabian Ruiz.

“We know it was a difficult match against a well-organized team and we did well, creating chances and goals,” said Vitinha. “It was very important to win today…”

Mbappe also posted on Instagram: “A bit closer…”

PSG came into the match having previously lost three of their last six games. All they need now is seven more points to win an 11th French title.

The next who has any hope of catching up to PSG is Lens who is six points away.

Just last week, PSG was also in the news after Messi was suspended by the club for going to Saudi Arabia on an unauthorized trip.

Messi later apologized to the fans and his teammates for the event.
