Tottenham manager Antonio Conte praised his side’s good reaction after bouncing back from a string of poor results with an impressive 4-0 win at Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

Harry Kane set up the victory with a double to put them 2-0 up, while Bryan Gil responded to recent criticism with a dazzling display.

“It was a good reaction,” Conte told reporters, after Spurs lost 2-0 at home to Aston Villa last week.

“It’s not easy to win away at Crystal Palace. We’re talking about a good team, well-organised.

“After the first half was imbalanced, in the second half we exploited chances to score and then we finished with a good final result.”

The result sees Tottenham maintain the pressure on the top four, sitting fifth with 33 points from 18 games, having only won one in four prior to that.

“It’s really important because we got three points,” Conte said.

“It’s important we continue to stay very close for a good position. When you don’t win you risk (putting) confidence down.

“Don’t forget, last season here we lost 3-0. It’s not easy. It means we played well and I’m happy.

“I’m happy because we used many young players; this is important for the present and also the future.”
