The future of the German international striker is wrapped in a cloak of uncertainty as it is still not clear what shal occur at the end of the current season. Podolski has been warming the bench for most of this season and has already declared that he wants to move out of the Allianz Arena.
A number of clubs has been linked with the player but it now appears that the German player would like to join Italian club AS Roma. In an interview with Il Giornale he admitted that he was a huge fan of Francesco Totti and that he would love to play alongside him.
Podolski said:
“I have heard Roma are interested in me, but I have not had any contact with the Giallorossi.
Totti? He is a great player and the strength he showed in the World Cup after returning from injury was incredible. He did everything to be there and he did it. It wouldn’t be bad playing alongside him.
“An adventure in Italy would be nice and Toni has always told me I would do well there and I could improve as a player.
“Roma have great players like Totti and [Daniele] De Rossi and they play in the Champions League.”
