Premier League club Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign the Newcastle United custodian Shay Given.
According to a report in the British tabloid The Daily Express, Arsenal are willing to spend as much as 8 million pounds on the Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper.
Given is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and is said to be disgruntled at the current uncertain situation surrounding the club, leading to rumours that he is set to leave the club in the summer, if not next month.
Along with Arsenal, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur too have been linked with a move to sign Shay Given but it can be understood that the temptation to play in the UEFA Champions League with Arsenal would certainly be more attractive than playing for the north London club.
