It was recently splashed across the English papers that Marcos Senna was willing to board the Man City ship. He was quoted as saying that he was interested in the Eastlans project.

But the Brazilian-born Spanish international defensive midfielder has dismissed all such reports, stressing that his client wants to play on for Villarreal and that he made no such comments in the press.

Ely Coimbra, his representative, said:

“The truth is that I cannot understand these quotes. How is it possible that someone can make up statements that say that Senna is interested in Manchester City?

“It is clear that neither Senna, nor I, have spoken with anyone from the English media. It is all outrageous. All Senna is thinking about is continuing with Villarreal.”

However, Senna’s agent did admit that Manchester City had indeed asked him in the past whether Senna would like to play in the Premier League or not.

Coimbra said:

“They called me to ask if Senna would be interested in playing in the Premiership, but we said no thanks.

“Fortunately, Villarreal and I have a great relationship, and they do not believe what is written in the English press. If I received a proposal from Manchester City or any other club, I would immediately call Jose Manuel Llaneza (a club delegate), and he would be the first to know.”
