FC Barcelona have landed their first two signings of the off-season after confirming deals for Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen.

Ivorian midfielder Kessie joins Barca from AC Milan as a free agent, signing a contract until June 2026.

Danish defender Christensen arrives at Camp Nou from Chelsea, where he also became a free agent and pens a deal until 2026.

Both have buy-out clauses in their contracts worth 500 million euros.

The free transfer moves are good business for the Blaugrana who have had financial issues over the past 18 months, leading to Lionel Messi’s exit last year.

Kessie, 25, was a key part of Milan’s Scudetto triumph this season, making 31 league appearances and scoring six goals. He has 58 caps for Ivory Coast.

Christensen, 26, had been with Chelsea since 2014, although he spent two seasons on loan at Borussia Moenchengladbach from 2015 to 2017.

The Danish defender never cemented himself as first choice at Chelsea, making 161 appearances during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Barcelona have seen Dani Alves and Ousmane Dembele both depart the club following the conclusion of their contracts on July 1.

Adama Traore and Luuk de Jong have returned to Wolverhampton and Sevilla following loan spells too.

Spanish midfielder Pablo Torre was signed from Racing Santander for five million euros.
