Real Madrid’s latest signing Lassana Diarra has expressed his gratitude and delight at being given chance to play for the most successful club in the world.
Real Madrid unveiled the 23-year old versatile player at the Bernabeu on Monday afternoon. He shall wear the Real Madrid shirt with the name “Lass” on the back. “Lass” is a common nickname for “Lassana” in France and shall also avoid any confusion with the name of Mahamadou Diarra, the Malian international who also plays for Real Madrid.
Speaking for the first time to the press as a Real Madrid player, the former Chelsea and Arsenal player remarked:
“It is honour to play for Real Madrid. I expect to give great performances on the pitch, and play to my maximum level. I have been very well received here, and I will soon adapt to the team and the language.”
