Leipzig’s win led by Konrad Laimer’s first-half double boosted their top-four aspirations, particularly with Freiburg going down. Third-placed Bayer Leverkusen quietly accumulated another three points with their 2-1 home win over Hertha Berlin to firm up their grip in a top-three spot.

Tottenham moved above Arsenal, for the time being, with a 5-1 victory over Newcastle. The Gunners play Crystal Palace on Monday, where they will look to re-claim fourth spot.
