The veteran Argentine, noted as being one of the best strikers in the world, was being lined up by reigning Spanish champions and European superpower Real Madrid for a January signing and initially it appeared that Crespo, who has been left on the bench for most parts of this season so far at Inter under new coach Jose Mourinho, was inclined to move to the Bernabeu.

But Crespo has now altered his mind and has declared that he shall keep on playing for Inter Milan. The former Chelsea striker told AS:

“I could go to another team but I would rather play less but win more.

“I would rather stay on and help the team win titles even if I play less football.

“Sometimes it happens where you will play less but that’s how it goes when you are at a big club.”
