Arsenal have been linked with a move for Brighton star White in the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports have reported that the Gunners have had a bid of 40 million pounds for the former Leeds United loanee turned down.
The North London club are still in talks over the signing of the 23-year-old, who can also play as a right-back and as a defensive midfielder.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Bent is an Arsenal fan, and the talkSPORT pundit believes that White would be a good signing for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Bent said on Euro GameDay Live on talkSPORT: “I am a big Ben White fan. He can play right of a three, centre of a three and holding midfield. Needs must.
“But I am a big fan of his. I have liked him ever since he was at Leeds on loan. He has shown great maturity. I think they tried to get him back when they got promoted, didn’t they?
“I can understand why Arsenal would go for him. They are still a big club. Regardless of where Arsenal are at, they are still a very big club.
“If you are asking me to be honest, is it better to go to Liverpool or Manchester United? Then, of course, them two clubs are in a better place going forward than Arsenal.
“But for him to go to Arsenal now then I am all for that. And for 40 million pounds, I think he’s worth every penny.”
