Spain striker Alvaro Morata was booed by the home crowd after spurning a handful of chances.
Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen made some fine saves to keep La Roja at bay, including a stunning low save from Daniel Olmo’s first-half header.
“He has the personality to endure it and I would more like (him) to be applauded,” Spain boss Luis Enrique said about Morata post-game.
“Morata is a great player who does things well in attack and defence. I have heard the whistles for Morata but then he was applauded off.
“He does a lot for the team and he is used to these situations so I do not think it will affect him.”
Elsewhere on Monday, Slovakia produced a memorable 2-1 victory against Poland in St Petersburg.

Poland leveled straight after the resumption, with Karol Linetty firing home but Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar lashed home from a corner to win it for Slovakia in the 69th minute.
