It has been reported in Spain’s highest selling sports daily that Real are willing to sign the Ukrainian international striker Andriy Shevchenko. Sheva was signed back by Milan in the summer of 2008 but the former European Cup winner has been unable to thread his way into the first eleven of Milan.

It has now been reported that Milan would be willing to offload Shevchenko to Madrid in January. Real are currently going through a period of crisis and went down 1-0 to Real Valladolid at the weekend.

The Merengues are looking forward to signing a striker in January. They have been hit by the news that their top striker Ruud van Nistelrooy would miss the rest of the season. Madrid have been linked with a number of top draw strikers, including Hernan Crespo of Inter Milan and Carlos Tevez of Manchester United.
