Thomas Tuchel’s side got the better of Leicester 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League to enhance their chances of finishing in the top four.
After a goalless first half, Rudiger put the Blues in the lead in the 47th minute, and Jorginho doubled the advantage from the penalty spot on 66 minutes.
Kelechi Iheanacho halved the deficit for Leicester in the 76th minute, but Chelsea held on for all three points.
The win saw Chelsea bounce back from their 1-0 loss to Leicester in the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium at the weekend.
The London club are now third in the Premier League table with 66 points from 37 matches, a point clear of fourth-placed Leicester.
Liverpool, who won the Premier League title last season, are currently fifth in the standings with 63 points from 36 games.
