Mark Lawrenson has backed Tottenham Hotspur to win against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

Tottenham will take on Wolves at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool legend Lawrenson believes that Spurs will pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 2-0 win.

Lawrenson told BBC Sport: “Wolves have started to pick up a bit in the past few weeks, but it says a lot about their season that they probably still won’t finish in the top half of the table.

“It’s hard to know exactly what to expect from Tottenham. On paper, they should win this game, but they will have to play a lot better than they did in their defeat by Leeds last time out.”

Tottenham are seventh in the Premier League table at the moment with 56 points from 25 matches.

Ryan Mason’s side will head into the match against Wolves on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Leeds United away from home at Elland Road in the league.

Meanwhile, Wolves currently find themselves 12th in the league with 45 points from 35 games.

Nuno’s side will head into the match against Spurs at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the back of a 2-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at home in the league.
