The Hoops played out a 1-1 draw with Aberdeen away from home at the Pittodrie Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Lewis Ferguson put the Dons in the lead in the 17th minute, but a goal from striker Leigh Griffiths in the third minute of injury time saw Celtic pick up a point from the encounter.
The result means that Celtic stay second in the Scottish Premiership table with 73 points from 35 matches, while Aberdeen are fourth with 53 points from 35 games.
Kennedy told Celtic’s official website: “We missed too many chances and gave away a cheap goal from a set-play, which was disappointing, he said. We had more than enough chances to get ourselves back into the game and then build on that.
“Aberdeen had something to hang on to in the second half so they sat in and were difficult to break down. We had to be patient and keep working them and the goal came in the end. Ideally, with the chances we created, we would have liked to have taken more out of the game.”
