The Gers played out a 1-1 draw with St Johnstone away from home at McDiarmid Park in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday evening.
After a goalless first half, Scott Wright put Rangers in the lead in the 55th minute, but a penalty from Liam Craig in the fifth minute of injury time sw the home team pick up a point from the encounter.
Rangers, who have already won the Scottish Premiership title this season, will face St Johnstone again this weekend.
The Gers will lock horns with Callum Davidson’s side in the Scottish Cup on Sunday evening.
Gerrard told Rangers’ official website: “We’ll take the point and move on. Coming here tonight, you could tell clearly with my decisions before the game, during the game and at the very end of the game, it was all about the weekend.
“I wanted to give people an opportunity tonight and we nearly took maximum points by not playing well. We have no complaints in-terms of the results - it is a shame we didn’t see the game out and I think we made some poor decisions in the final moments of the game but I think all-in-all, we will take the point and move on.
“It was a penalty and we were probably lucky not to concede another. Our keeper has probably been a little busier than theirs, so we have no complaints.”
