Tottenham have got the better of Southampton 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.
It was Ryan Mason’s first game in charge of Spurs as the club’s interim-manager following the departure of Jose Mourinho as the head coach.
Southampton took the lead on the half-hour mark when Danny Ings glanced in James Ward-Prowse’s corner.
Gareth Bale, signed on loan from Spanish and European giants Real Madrid last summer, restored parity for Spurs on the hour mark when he curled the ball home into the back of the net.
Son Heung-min secured the points for Spurs in the 90th minute from the penalty spot.
The win against Southampton means that Tottenham are now sixth in the Premier League table with 53 points from 33 matches, two points behind fourth-placed and London rivals Chelsea, who have played 32 games.
Former Tottenham central midfielder Hazard was following the match, and he has given his take on the win on [Twitter][2r.
Great win and Ryan Mason has a 100% Win rate. Great 3 points much better 2nd half and signs we are playing with a much better tempo. Still work to be done to get up to pace but a good start. Well done @RyanMason
