The former Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker believes that Rice, who can also operate as a central defender, is a brilliant footballer.
Lineker made the comments about the 22-year-old following the youngster’s performance for the Three Lions in their 2-1 win against Poland at Wembley Stadium in London on Wednesday evening.
The victory saw England maintain their 100% record in the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with three wins out of three in Group I.
Against Poland on Wednesday evening, Rice was a strong and imposing figure in the middle of the park, as the West Ham star broke up opposition’s attacks and drove his own team forward.
The 22-year-old had a pass accuracy of 93.9%, took 82 touches, attempted two dribbles, and made five tackles, two interceptions and two clearances.
Lineker was impressed by Rice and has praised the West Ham and England defensive midfielder on Twitter.
