Chelsea have got the better of Atletico Madrid 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie this evening.
Hakim Ziyech put Thomas Tuchel’s side in the lead after 34 minutes, and Emerson Palmieri doubled the advantage in the fourth minute of injury time.
La Liga outfit Atletico ended the game with 10 men due to the dismissal of Stefan Savic in the 81st minute.
Chelsea won the first leg of the tie 1-0 in Madrid, meaning that the former Premier League champions have progressed to the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier club competition 3-0 on aggregate.
Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has given his take on Twitter on Chelsea’s progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and believes that no team would like to face them in the last eight.
Chelsea havent been the easiest watch since Tuchel took charge but Im pretty certain nobody will want to be paired with them in Fridays @ChampionsLeague draw on @btsport
