Real Madrid hitman Ruud van Nistelrooy has been ruled out of all footballing action for two months after being diagnosed with a possible wound of the external meniscus of the right knee, leading doctors to perform a surgery very soon.
The Dutch international striker has been suffering with this injury since the start of the season and has have had to miss a number of matches already. It has now been confirmed that he shall miss two more months of action because of the impending surgery to get him rid of the injury.
The same injury struck him in March 2006 when Van Nistelrooy suffered a similar injury. The injury seems to have resurfaced again this time.
Ruud van Nistelrooy shall now miss key matches against Valencia, FC Barcelona, Sevilla and Villarreal in December and shall also miss the last two group matches in the UEFA Champions League.
