Michael Owen has predicted Tottenham Hotspur to win against Wolfsberger in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Tottenham will take on Wolfsberger away from home at Puskas Arena in Budapest n the first leg of their Round of 32 tie.

Spurs will head into the game on the back of a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

It followed a 5-4 loss at the hands of Everton in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen believes that Tottenham will recover from their recent defeats and win against Wolfsberger 2-0.

Owen said: “Jose Mourinho will be hoping that a change of scenery will act as a catalyst to spark his Spurs side back into form. The Europa League has been a happy hunting ground for Tottenham so far this campaign having gone undefeated in nine of their last 10 matches in the competition.

“For Wolfsberger, they’ll be disappointed that the match will be played at a neutral venue. The Austrian side have lost just one of their last eight home matches, so psychologically, it’s a definite blow.

“I can’t help but cast my mind back to Liverpool’s win against Leipzig on Tuesday night. Similarly, the Reds aren’t firing domestically, but Europe certainly brought out the best in them. I think similar fortunes could be in store for Spurs.”
