Alex Iwobi Reacts to Everton Defeat to Manchester City

Everton winger Alex Iwobi has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s failure to win against Manchester City.

The Toffees suffered a 3-1 defeat to City at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

England international midfielder Phil Foden put the Citizens in the lead in the 32nd minute when he found the back of the net with a right-footed shot that hit Everton substitute Seamus Coleman on its way past Jordan Pickford.

Lucas Digne’s powerful attempt came back off the post and hit Richarlison before flying over the line after just five minutes, as Everton restored parity.

However, City stepped up their game in the second half and twice though Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva to pick up all three points from the encounter.

Mahrez scored in the 63rd minute with a wonderful curling effort from 18 yards, and Silva scored a similarly brilliant goal on 77 minutes.

Iwobi, who can also play as a winger, has said on [Twitter][1] that he and his teammates will recover from the defeat.

The defeat to City means that Everton are now seventh in the [Premier League table][2] with 37 points from 23 matches, five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will return to action on Saturday evening when they take on Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Merseyside derby.
