Premier League club United have got the better of Championship side City 1-0 at home in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Billy Sharp’s goal from the penalty spot midway through the second half proved to be the difference between the two sides at Bramall Lane.
David McGoldrick’s goal-bound shot hit defender Alfie Mawson on the hand, and after a VAR check, referee Robert Jones sent off the defender and gave the home team a penalty, which Sharp successfully converted.
