Liverpool will take on Tottenham away from home at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.
The Reds will head into the game against Spurs on the back of a 3-2 defeat to bitter rivals Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Jurgen Klopp’s side’s last league fixture, which was against Burnley at Anfield, ended in a 1-0 defeat.
The defending English champions are now fifth in the Premier League table with 34 points from 19 matches, as many as seven points behind leaders Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Tottenham currently find themselves sixth in the standings with 33 points from 18 matches.
Jose Mourinho’s side will head into the game against Liverpool on the back of a 4-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers away from home in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Former Liverpool striker Owen has backed the Merseyside club to pick up all three points against Tottenham courtesy of a 2-1 victory.
Owen said: “Liverpool come into this winless in their last five Premier League matches, scoring in just one of those games. Sunday night’s FA Cup defeat would’ve been hard to take as the Reds certainly had enough of the game to get a result.
“They take on a Spurs side that will no doubt be well organised. I think Jose Mourinho will be willing to give up territory, much like Manchester United did, in the hope he can catch the Reds on the counter.
“I think that could work to a certain extent; however, Tottenham’s defence has the tendency to switch off, and they cannot afford to do that here. This could be a cracker and I’m siding with Liverpool to stop the rot and come away with the win.”
