Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says his sides lacked freshness after their four-game winning run ground to a halt with a goalless draw against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League on Thursday.

Arsenal couldnt find a way through Crystal Palace in the 0-0 draw, although the Eagles had a few good chances of their own.

The Gunners had won three games in a row in the Premier League, along with last weekends FA Cup win over Newcastle, rising up to 11th.

However, Arteta pointed to a lack of freshness for their inability to get past Palace.

“After a great run we wanted to come here today and win the match, but I think we lacked some freshness,” Arteta said.

“We had a period that was fatigue related where we kept giving the ball away. We lacked the quality in the final third to win the game.”

Despite their failure to take all three points, Arsenal kept another clean sheet, making it four games without conceding.

Arteta added: “We took a point, another clean sheet which is really positive, but disappointing not to get the three points.

“We will assess and review what we have done in the last two games that we have to do better.

“Defensively, we were really solid and we are not giving things away easily. We’re making it really hard for the opponent.

“In the final third, we’ve progressed a lot but today there are things that we have to do better.”

The Premier League resumes on Saturday with five matches, including Chelsea going next door to Fulham and Leicester City hosting Southampton.
