Mark Lawrenson has backed Leeds United to win against Burnley this weekend.

Leeds will take on Burnley at Eland Road in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side will head into the match against the Clarets on the back of a 6-2 defeat to Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the league.

The West Yorkshire club are 14th in the Premier League table at the moment with 17 points from 14 matches.

Meanwhile, Burnley currently find themselves 16th in the standings with 13 points from 13 games, just three points above the relegation zone.

Sean Dyche’s side will head into the match against Leeds on the back of a 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Turf Moor in the league.

Liverpool legend Lawrenson believes that Leeds will pick up all three points from the match against Burnley courtesy of a 2-1 win.

Lawrenson wrote on BBC Sport: “Burnley are on a good run, with two draws and two wins in their past four games, and this should be a good game.

“Leeds are not great defensively in open play or at set-pieces, and their goalkeeper Illan Meslier makes some good saves but doesn’t command the area.

“Meslier is just a kid at 20. He looks like he has the makings of a really good keeper, but he isn’t one at the moment. He is still learning, and he is playing behind a porous back four.

“Leeds know their strength is going forward, though, and they are not going to change. I think they will win, but there is no way they are getting a clean sheet.”
