According to ESPN, Paris Saint-Germain have decided to part company with Thomas Tuchel and will appoint Mauricio Pochettino as his replacement.

Tuchel has been relieved of his duties at PSG following the team’s disappointing performances in Ligue 1 in recent weeks.

The Parisian club are third in the league table at the moment with 35 points from 17 matches, a point behind Lyon and Lille, who are first and second respectively in the standings.

PSG’s reported decision to dismiss Tuchel comes just a day after he led the team to a 4-0 home win against Strasborg in Ligue 1.

The German was appointed the manager of PSG in the summer of 2018 and led the club to successive Ligue 1 titles.

Under Tuchel, the French giants also reached the final of the Champions League last season.

ESPN has reported that former PSG central defender Pochettino will take charge of the defending Ligue 1 champions.

The Argentine is without a managerial role at the moment, having parted company with Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in November 2019.
