Tottenham came into the final group matchday sitting second in the group two points behind Antwerp, who’d beaten Spurs in Belgium earlier in the Europa League.
After a goalless first half, Spurs broke the deadlock through Carlos Vinicius in the 57th minute before the impressive Giovani Lo Celso added the second in the 71st minute.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho said: “That’s the Gio that we love. That’s the Gio last season that appeared and stayed until he got that pubis problem.
“I knew we had to wait a bit for him and he’s been coming step by step. Today he had not just a technical quality performance but also a physically good performance. Today he was strong.”
Mourinho was pleased with his side, who are also top of the Premier League, and felt they always had Antwerp under control.
“Difficult side. They press, they mark, they chase, lots of one against one,” he said.
“Great intensity. We pressed them high and always kept them away form our defensive area. That was what we did better.”
"One thing we did well was press them high and keep them away from our defensive area."
